                     ======================================

This text file has been split into three sections for ease of use :

          Section 1 - Using GBase
Section 2 - Other ARM Club products
Section 3 - The ARM Club

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Section 1 - Using GBase
=======================

GBase has been written to complement the GameOn! and StrongGuard!
applications from The ARM Club. With GameOn! installed users of the Acorn
Risc PC are able to run many games which would otherwise not work and
StrongGuard! additionally eases compatibility problems for owners of
StrongARM processor cards.

In order to load the GBase application simply double click on the !GBase
icon. GBase will then be installed on the icon bar. Clicking select over the
GBase icon on the icon bar will open the main database window.

Clicking menu over the GBase window results in the database menu being
displayed. To find a particular game or application you can do one of four
things. Firstly, you can drag an application icon to the box in the bottom
left corner of the window. Secondly, you can click on the search icon, or
select the Search option from the menu, and enter the name of the software
that you are looking for. Thirdly, you can step through the entries one by
one using the double left and right arrow icons and, finally, you can go to
a specific record by selecting the Goto option from the menu and entering a
record number.

To print a copy of the database, load !Printers (this can usually be found
by clicking on the hard disc icon and double clicking on the Printing
directory in the window that appears on the screen) and select the Print
option from the database menu.

The comment field provides additional information about the compatibility of
some products. For example, if a game works without Game On! installed, but
runs too fast, a note to that effect will be shown in the comment field.

A few games require small modifications before they will work. If a game
needs to be modified before it will run and Game On! or StrongGuard! can
carry out that modification, this will be detailed in the comment field.
Games are modified by dragging the application icon to the box in the
bottom right corner of the window.

NOTE : The ARM Club offers no Guarantee that the "Programs" file contained
within this application is correct in every detail.
Should you notice any errors within the data contained within the
database, please send details of them to The ARM Club's FREEPOST
address (at the bottom of this file) so as we may make the necessary
       corrections.
